Nice way to get to the river. It was reopen in 2014. Crego Park, a relatively new City of Lansing park, has it's own small lake perfect for fishing, canoeing and kayaking. No grills or picnic tables. This trail joins the main Lansing River Trail at Potter Park by way of the River Trail South spur, providing safe, convenient access to the park for pedestrians, bicyclists and rollerbladers from Lansing and East Lansing. The River Trail takes a lovely route along the river through parks, woodlands and along urban trails. I like this park because it links to a bigger trail system in Lansing. Places to visit in downtown include the Capitol Building, Library of Michigan, Michigan Historical Museum, and the Vietnam Memorial. Walking around they made it look nice.

more. Nice area for fishing. With an extension just east of Aurelius Road off the Lansing River Trail and a parking lot off Mt Hope Ave, Crego is easily accessible to everyone. The park has picnic facilities, playgrounds, and access to the Lansing River Trail. Probably not. The trail is flat and paved, making for an easy hike. Things to see along the way include Brenke Fish Ladder, where spawning salmon and steelhead fight their way upstream during September; the Turner-Dodge House to the northwest; Potter Park Zoo to the southeast; and Louis F. Adado Riverfront Park- the home of Lansing's major festivals.
